"That cannot be Gucci" - this was exactly my first thought when looking at Frida Giannini's Fall Collection. Gucci used to be in-your-face luxury, always a little bit over the top. This is why I wasn't that fond of Gucci's last collections. But now it seems Frida got inspired by the pureness of Stella McCartney's looks or Phoebe Philo's collections for Celine - beige, ivory, black, clean cuts, fur - luxurious, but not over the top at all. Yet, Frida keeps the special Guccinesse by lowering the former shout to a gentle whisper. I like!
