Right now, we're filming for HUGO BOSS at the Michelberger Hotel in Berlin and since we're flying home this afternoon I opted for a casual look. I got this Isabel Marant shirt at the Corner on sale the other day and guess what? I was lucky and got hold of another pair of Isabel Marant Bekett high-top sneakers from the new spring collection and a blazer from the fall/winter runway show, which was also on sale. Gosh, I'm such a fan ;) Will post some snaps asap, but I gotta go for now! Have a great weekend :D

The HUGO Fashion Show F/W 2012

The HUGO Fashion Show yesterday was breathtaking - top models like Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls walked down the shiny white runway in slim-cut business suits and fabulous coats in pop colors. The front row was filled with A-list VIPs, among them Jared Leto, Julianne Moore and Georgia May Jagger. Do I have to say more?

As I already told you I'm in Berlin for HUGO, so I was working backstage. I got the chance to watch the show rehearsal and had the chance to interview Karlie Kloss, Liu Wen and Josefine Nielsen. After the show, I ran into Chiara, the blogger from The Blonde Salad and her friend was so nice to take our picture - so at least I have one shot of the look I was wearing to the show ;)

In the evening, I went to the HUGO press dinner - the food was amazing and all the celebs and fashion crowd were there. You can see some snap shots on twitter.

Now, I've got to go and start working on another great project here in Berlin...

In Berlin for HUGO!

I've been out of touch for a while, but I had to prepare so many things for the Berlin Fashion Week, so I do have a pretty good excuse :) So yesterday I arrived in Berlin and had the pleasure to meet fashion blogger Bryanboy, who is covering the HUGO Show on twitter, on his own blog and as a guest editor on the HUGO Blog. It's so much fun to work with him, he never gets tired and he's really inspiring! As you can see in the pictures, we had lots of fun at the fitting yesterday :D

The HUGO Fashion Show will be streamed live on Thursday at 1:30 pm on the HUGO Blog and it's going to be amazing, so make sure you watch it :)

After the fitting we went shopping at the HUGO Store and then to have burgers and french fries at White Trash - yum!

What's on the menu?

I spent New Year's Eve in Munich, but since I already arrived on the 29th of December, my friend and I had lots of time to take on the city and I thought I'd share some culinary tips in this post :) First up is La Baracca, which is best described as a high-end Vapiano, where you place your order via iPad. The atmosphere is great and the food was really good. The service however was much like the service at Vapiano ;)

On the second day of my visit we tried the famous truffle pizza at H'ugo's - it was just soooo good and if you love truffles it's definitely a must-do!

Before New Year's Eve, we had a quick lunch at Brenner, a restaurant I last visited in 2007, and I must say that it still serves great Italian food. But what I most like about it is its location - so convenient if you're on a shopping tour :D

Last but not least, we got macarons at MAELU - you cannot compare them to the ones from Ladurée, of course, but for German macarons they were quite good. We also tried the cake at the little café on the first floor and here I can honestly say that it was delicious :D

Ok, so now I'm hungry. What about you? ;)

2011 - let it end in style!

Right now I'm sitting in the living room of one of my best friends in Munich drinking Champagne, eating macarons and thinking of all the fabulous experiences and travels I had in 2011. I was attending two Berlin Fashion Weeks and travelled to Paris, Capri, Malta, Tunisia, Valencia, Rome, Corsica and NYC. All in all, it was a great year and I would like to use this opportunity to thank all my friends for their support and all my photographers - family, friends and colleagues - because without their effort my blog wouldn't exist. Then again, a big THANK YOU to all my readers in 2011! Let's end 2011 in style :D ! Let's get the random recap started...

When it comes to fur, and I mean the real thing that the Olsens and Wintours of this world are wearing, I only do vintage. Kind of salves my conscience - at least a little bit. Fur jackets are just so chic and warm. So naturally I'm in love with my mum's vintage fur jacket - it's just the right color, length and size. But don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of faux fur as well. How about you? Faux or real or both?

I love those last days of December. All you have to do is relax and wait for the New Year to start. It's usually the time when I meet old friends, reorganize my wardrobe and start experimenting with my hair as you can see in the photos. The curls go so well with the Peter Pan collar of my new Zara blouse, don't you think? ;o)

I made the curls with hot curlers and used tons of hair spray to fix them (otherwise they will be gone within an hour). I also own a curling iron, but it takes ages... What are you using to curl your hair? Or do you prefer the sleek look?

Stars for Christmas - groundbreaking!

Yay! Christmas day has finally arrived and I'm wearing stars - groundbreaking, I know ;)

I wish you, my dear readers, a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Also, I would like to use this opportunity to thank you all for reading my blog and for all your lovely comments. My blog was born in July 2009 and in the past two and a half years I have learnt so much about blogging (basic HTML programming during sleepless nights), photography (I really wanna start saving for a new lense) and, of course, about me as a person and my personal style. Sometimes, I wish I could blog more often, but since I have a full-time job it's quite difficult to find some time to squeeze in a photo shoot, so the results are not always perfect, but nothing is, right?! So in love with my new Zara star print skirt. It's so light and airy and paired with a warm cashmere knit it works perfectly on sunny December days, don't you think? The pictures were taken on Saturday in the park in the city center, which was such a crazy idea, because the city was packed with tourists shopping Christmas gifts and visiting our Christmas market. But somehow I kind of got used to people standing around watching me jump and pose... guess you just need to develop the blogger gene... hahaha :D

...'cause I'm having such a good time! Well, sometimes the best part of a night out with friends is dressing up together and having a little pre-party at home :) That was exactly what Mr. C and I were up to last weekend. But in the end we had to shut down our little pre-party in order to make it in time for our dinner reservation :D

I'm wearing my Blair-Waldorf Marc Jacobs dress - one of my all-time favorite dresses, which I actually bought before I even knew the Gossip Girl series, so you can expect how surprised and excited I was when I saw Blair Waldorf wearing it - oh and yes, this is the kitchen and bathroom of my flat :)

One of my best friends came to visit me this weekend - on our schedule: Lots of food and cocktails, mulled wine at the Christmas market and some Christmas shopping. I love it when friends visit me for the weekend, because after a night out, you can curl up in front of the TV together the next morning, have breakfast and keep chatting until afternoon :D

Of course, we also managed to shoot some new photos for the blog. We found this amazing location on Friday right before dusk. It reminds me of my favorite song from Keane, Somewhere only we know, hence the title of this post. What do you say?

Welcome to my bedroom! It's my favorite room of the flat, so I thought I'd show you some impressions :)

There's my canopy bed, a chest of drawers, a working desk and a huge open closet where I keep my shoes and most of my accessories. So I kind of sleep with my shoes and bags hahaha :) I store my shoes in their original boxes and I especially love the blue boxes from Lanvin with the black ribbon. How do you store your shoes? I love organizing my accessories and wardrobe and I'm always looking for new ideas and inspirations :D

I also have another huge closet for my clothes and I'm currently planning to turn one spare room into a walk-in closet - crazy fashionista, I know, but I just can't help it ;)

Went shopping on Saturday and just couldn't resist treating myself to one of the Isabel Marant Aztec pullovers at a crazy up-to-seventy-percent sale on the current collections :) I will show you the pullover later, can't wait to wear it. I was thrilled when the McGregor online store team gave me the chance to choose my favorite pieces from their new collection. Believe me, it was a not an easy choice to make, but in the end I opted for a bright red down jacket, a classic blue caban jacket (I've been searching for one like that for years), a sporty dress and pink longsleeve polo. When the package finally arrived last week I nearly screamed for joy. I am so happy with my new items and cannot wait to style them :)

A city that never sleeps (NYC Day & Night)

Here's my last post with photos from New York. I spent the last day at MoMA and in Central Park to relax from all the shopping :D
During our stay in NYC, we also spent two evenings with the lovely Alina fom "The Style Socialite". We had dinner and drinks on a rooftop garden with a breathtaking view of the Chrysler and Empire State Building and the other night, we enjoyed some Dim Sum in Chinatown and went clubbing at Marquee.
We also met up with Barblin from "Babo in the City" for drinks at a very cool bar in Chinatown called Apothéke. As you can guess from the name, the interior of the bar looks like an old pharmacy with old medicine bottles lined up behind the counter and the cocktails are made with exotic herbs and fruits. Delicious!
On my last day, I was also lucky to finally meet a "celebrity" - erh, well, no Ed Westwick or Chace Crawford, but at least someone from a US Morning Show ;)
I already miss New York and hope to come back soon!

As promised, here are some more New York moments. I can't believe how lucky we were to have so many warm and sunny days. And I was happy that I travelled with light luggage, so I was actually forced to go shopping and wear my new purchases right away ;) I snatched the last pair of the black Isabel Marant Dicker boots at Bergdorf Goodman on Sunday and did some serious shopping at Victoria's Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch. But sightseeing was also on our list, so on this sunny day, we took the Staten Island Ferry, watched the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty and then walked past Ground Zero and the protesters on Wall street - I took so many photos there, but the one I picked for this post ironically fits what came next: A trip to the famous Magnolia Bakery I bet most of you know from SATC. We walked all the way from SoHo to Greenwich Village and as you can see it was definitely worth it - although I must admit, that the cupcakes from the Hummingbird Bakery in London are still my favorites :D

We had so much fun crossing the Brooklyn Bridge walking towards the skyline of Manhattan. If you ever come to New York and the weather is nice, you just have to do it. It was pretty windy actually, so it was double the fun ;) Today is our last day and right now I'm sitting in Starbucks on Park Avenue writing the last post from the Big Apple :D

Hallo from New York!

Yesterday afternoon, my friend Valerie and I landed in the Big Apple. Now, we're enjoying one week of sightseeing, meeting friends and shopping. Here's the first look and the first impressions from the city. We walked down Fifth Avenue and had so much fun trying on Halloween masks at Urban Outfitters :D After the shopping tour, we went to have dinner in Little Italy and since we both had a little jetlag, we went straight back to the hotel. Miami Horror Concert at the HUGO Store

The reason for my little trip to Berlin was a very exciting event at the HUGO Store. On Tuesday night, the Australian band Miami Horror was playing a live gig at the store. The concert was so much fun and I'm now really into their music :)

HUGO has recently started to cooperate with newcomer bands for the creative project HUGO Tracks and if you like music as much as I do then I highly recommend you check out the HUGO Blog on a regular basis with the latest songs, news from the bands and free downloads.

At the concert, I also met Camilla from the Blog Some Kind of Style, who is such a lovely person. It's always great to meet bloggers and followers in real life :)

Long time no post, I know, but I had so many other things on my mind. Sorry for that. But my absence also indicates that there are many new inspirations coming this way...

I was actually planning to attend Paris Fashion Week this year, but it was too last minute to get time off from work and organize the trip. Maybe next time. But in two weeks, I'll be jetting of to New York and I am already looking forward to this trip :)

Just got back from Düsseldorf. VOGUE Fashion's Night Out was just crazy - the city was crowded with fashionistas, most of them dressed up to the limit and ready to sip champagne all night long ;) Since I had to work, I didn't have so much free time, but I had promised a friend to make a quick stop at Chanel to get the limited "Les Jeans the Chanel" nail polish set. When I first walked past the Chanel boutique, dozens of people were already queuing to get their hands on the limited edition nail polish trio. Argh! So I checked back later and fortunately it only took me ten minutes or so to get inside the store. Phew! But when I told the sales lady that I wanted to have two sets, one for a friend and one for myself, she looked at me like I was completely mad and told me that she is only allowed to sell one set per person. Whaaat?!? But luckily, a guy queuing with his girlfriend offered me to get his set :)

So I got what I wanted and quickly rushed back. My conclusion: FNO is the craziest shopping event of the year!

I am completely in love with my Isabel Marant Dicker Boots. The heel's got the perfect height and they are so comfy. One of my favorite vintage pieces is my vintage LV Noe bag, because it is pretty roomy and perfect for work. I really don't like LV bags when they look brand new, I prefer them with a little wear and tear ;)

And I recently rediscovered my beloved old Closed scarf. In late summer, I like to use my scarfes and shawles as a a jacket substitute. It just gives me the feeling that summer will last forever :D

Sometimes, paradise can be so close to home. From where I live, it is only a one-and-a-half-hour car ride away :D

Lake Constance is perfect for a mini weekend trip and to me, it also feels a little bit like home because I was in boarding school there for four years. Believe me, it was just amazing to live so close to the lake and I always like going back to all my favorite spots and places.

So before spending the afternoon at the lake, we took a stroll in the beautiful gardens of the Mainau Island :)

One last summer afternoon spent at Lake Constance. At least it felt like the last perfect summer afternoon. It was so warm last Saturday, even in the afternoon heat. It was the perfect timing, because I just came back from shopping some new lingerie with Sarah (with her I always end up buying underwear - no idea why) and realized that I still had this -yet unworn- Monki shirt hanging in my closet. So I created this summery weekend look which was perfect for sunbathing in the park ;)

Yesterday, I was having a fabulous birthday dinner with my family. And look what I dug out of the depths of my closet: A Miu Miu dress that I got back in 2000 and which has gone through lots of emotional moments with me. I was wearing it to the christening of my godson, the wedding of my cousin, my graduation ceremony and to countless family birthday parties. And I still love its 50s-charme. So you could really say that it was a good investment ;)

Today I am turning 25. One year older and wiser ;)

Something old, something new...

When I was a kid, I used to lay out my clothes for the next day before I went to bed. I don't do that anymore because I prefer to start the day with a whole closet full of possibilities. My style really depends on how I feel on the particular day. It might be a casual day, a denim day, a dress-up day or a I-don't-know-what-to-wear-but-I'm-trying-to-make-the-best-of-it-day ;)
I especially love to combine old and new things. An old shirt can look surprisingly great combined with a new skirt or a new piece of jewellery. So here I'm wearing something old (sweater), something new (necklace) and two items in blue - but nothing borrowed, cause that's the only thing I don't like ;)

Yesterday, I went shopping with a friend, but this time, I was shopping to upgrade the sportswear section of my wardrobe ;) I got some new running shoes and sport clothes which I was just wearing for my morning run in the park. New shoes and new clothes are always the best motivation, don't you think?!?

30 Seconds to Mars and Placebo live on Stage in Stuttgart!

Yesterday, I went to the 30 Seconds to Mars and Placebo Open Air Concert in Stuttgart. It was completely out of the blue, because I had actually missed out on the ticket sale. So it was a huge surprise when a friend of mine spontaneously managed to organized some VIP tickets :D

We had so much fun dancing around and singing along to the songs. It was one of the best live concerts ever. My personal highlight was when Placebo played "Every you every me", the song from the movie Cruel Intentions, which I have watched at least one million times when I was a teenager ;)

Afterwards, we went to the After Show Party, met some more friends and enjoyed drinks and canapés. I included two short videos for you guys at the end of the post and I hope they're any good :)

Originally, I was planning to wear them with skinny jeans or leggings. But whenever the sun comes out these days I rather opt for a summer dress. And surprise surprise: They also work with dresses. Guess they will also be great with mini skirts and shorts :)

I usually wear contacts, so there are only few photos of me wearing glasses. These ones are actually Dior Men, but I kind of liked the shape, so I went for them. With -4.5 diopters I can hardly go anywhere without contacts or glasses, because otherwise I would bump into the next door frame ;)

Do you also have to wear glasses or contacts?

Yesterday, I was having problems with my contacts, so maybe I should just opt for my nerd glasses more often... This week, I finally received a pretty great addition to my wardrobe and I cannot wait to show it to you. Plus, I've got so many ideas for shoots and projects, so I really hope there'll be enough time for all of it this weekend :D

At work, I often wear the jeans-blazer combination, it's the perfect mix. Fortunately, working in communication and advertising allows you to dress casual and to sport the latest trends, so even blazers are not mandatory ;)

When it comes to make-up, I like it simple and natural. In the morning, I usually use some concealer, a little bit of powder and sometimes rouge. I curl my lashes, put on some transparent lip product and I'm good to go. For special occasions, I do smokey eyes, but I rarely use lipsticks. I don't know why, because I love the feminine and grown-up feeling you have when you put on some lipstick :D

So far, I've only used the ones from Chanel, but I've heard that MAC offers some awesome colors. Of course, the color has to be great, but it also has to have a good quality. So what lipsticks are you using? Do you have a particular color or brand that you recommend?

It's a lipstick jungle out there and I am usually overwhelmed by the range of products. So I am looking forward to hear your thoughts and recommendations :)

My all-time favorite summer dress!

It's not exactly appropriate to show you my all-time favorite summer dress on such a rainy day, but maybe it will be a lucky charm and bring back the summer ;)

My favorite summer dress comes from a small shop called Apple Tree on London's Portobello Road, which I highly recommend because they've got the cutest vintage-inspired dresses. I bought this dress years ago and whenever I find a piece I really love, I stick to it and keep wearing it over and over again. Of course, I am always up for new trends and one-season-only pieces, but there are some treasures that I will keep in my closet forever. Most of them do have a special story. So what's the story of this dress? Well, it wasn't exactly love at first sight, the store was crowded and I just quickly tried it on and bought it thinking that I would somehow find a way to make it work. It was a typical impulse buy and for me, those usually end up on ebay or in the back of my closet. Little did I know that it would become my all-time favorite summer dress :D

Surprise: My latest love!

I'd never thought I'd say this, but I am madly in love with a pair of hi-top sneakers :D

The last time I was crazy about sneakers was at the age of thirteen. I remember that I desperately wanted a pair of Adidas Superstars, which I actually never got. And now, more than ten years later, these Isabel Marant sneakers have caught my eye. Here's why: First, they look more fashionable than sporty. Second, they have a built-in wedge heel, so they will make your legs look longer. Third, they are actually quite comfy. And fourth, I desperately need a pair of comfy sneakers, I really do :D So what do you think? Do you love them,too?

Since the summer has moved on, my newfound love for maxi skirts has turned into quite an obsession :D

It's just too cold for little dresses and shorts and I'm definitely not up for tights in July. No way! So I stick to this season's master plan and keep wearing pleated maxi skirts. I hope you like my new one :)

I was wearing it on Saturday for a shopping trip with my friends. We had such a great girls weekend with a very long brunch on Sunday. But the weekend is always far too short... Speaking of a famous girl trio, two of my best friends spontaneously visited me this weekend and we had such a great time catching up with each other, eating frozen yoghurt, doing some shopping at COS, having a barbecue and lots of fun, of course ;) But time flies and now, it's already Monday morning.
